My goal in this site is to share my understanding of photography as art. Through my attempt at art with my Luminous Views to the understanding of how light, a camera and time all work together in what we call photography.
Not that I would consider myself a photography artist in the realm of effort that Ansel Adams put into art itself but I do believe my approach to the prints I am creating is in the same vien and significance. The word contemporary means modern and/or happening. I hear words from folks about how they have never seen anything like it to how it looks so real. Even accusations that what I do is HDR. If you have done HDR and then attempt to do what I do you would agree that my ‘painting with light’ is much more than HDR.
When I was eight I have the opportunity to use a Polaroid Land Camera for the first time in my life. It was amazing to see the instant interpretation but was just as frustrating to understand that there is always the problem of too light or too dark in a photograph. This experience was my ’spark’.
The majorty of what I understand when it comes to photography was learned through application. How I see what I do is essentially ‘light painting’ as I am attempting to bring as much light and color from as wide a range of as the sun and lights can display on our landscapes art.
Technology has brought amazing visions, abilities and conservation into art. With time and patience many great things will happen in the realm of photography.
