About Me

Brenda Sherwood is an accomplished artist and creative professional with a diverse range of talents. With a strong foundation in digital media and art history, she blends her expertise in photography, painting, and film to create impactful and thought-provoking work.
As a painter and photographer, Brenda’s work captures the beauty and simplicity of the world around her. Her photography is featured in private collections, and her artwork has been displayed in multiple exhibits at the Women’s Art Association of Canada. Brenda has also started pursuing oil paintings which are inspired by her photographs.
In addition to her visual arts, Brenda is passionate about storytelling through film and is currently developing several exciting projects. Her work includes producing an award-winning film, creating a book, and completing a documentary. Brenda continues to explore new creative outlets and is committed to bringing her diverse projects to life.

  • Received an Honors Bachelor of Arts in Digital Enterprise Management from the University of Toronto and a diploma in Digital Communications from Sheridan College.
  • Became a member in December 2022 of the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television.
  • Founded the Toronto Worldwide Short Film Festival and produced the award-winning short film The Bellringer, which won a Gemini and screened at over 23 film festivals.
  • Developing an animated short based on The Bellringer, set to begin production in April 2025.
  • Set to complete a documentary feature film by End of 2025.
  • Member of Getty Images, Accepted by Getty Images and exhibited at the Women’s Art Association of Canada, with work now in private collections.
  • In Summer 2025, photos and oil paintings will be featured in a book about Mary Dignam, founder of the Women’s Association of Canada.
  • Aspires to continue adapting photos into oil paintings, with merchandise available through the website.
